5 Benefits of an At-Home Workout Regimen.
The benefits of having an at-home workout regimen are priceless to me as a woman on-the-go juggling work, wellness, and the like. Did I say kids? Yes, those too! Check out these 5 benefits of why you should start and sustain an at-home workout regimen. You’ll be thanking me later!
** No More Traveling – Kick running out of the house, running late and speeding through traffic to make that 5:30pm barre class out the door. With an at-home workout regimen you don’t need to do any of these things. You stay safe, you always get to keep your perfect parking spot, and you never have to walk out of the studio sweating in cold weather as you turn into an ice pop! At-home workouts are a travel free zone that take the stress out of committing to your wellness practice. With these, you’re always on time and the lack of rushing keeps it stress free and fun.
** More Time – When you don’t have to travel back and forth to a studio you save time on the front end and the back end. I can’t tell you how helpful this has been for my busy schedule as a business owner and a mom! If I had one wish it would be more time and an at-home workout regimen provides just that. Long gone are the days of a 30 – 40 minute drive to and from the studio. Now, as soon as I finish my workout I can hop directly into the shower or open a new tab on my computer and get straight to work with all the energy I just created. This benefit alone has my vote!
** Options – You have so many options when it comes to at-home workouts, how could you not love them? You can do your workout or bodywork whenever it fits into your day. If you like it in the morning, you got it. If you prefer it at night, it’s right there waiting for you. A midday sweat sesh more your thing? That works, too! You can work out in a park, on the beach, in your living room and any other place you can think of (with a decent wifi connection). One of the things I love most about at-home workouts is they are also ideal for travel. I love to travel with my family and at-home workouts give me a sustainable option to keep my wellness commitments. They allow me the flexibility of when and where that helps me stay on track with my fitness goals even on-the-go.
** Versatility – Ahhhh, I love this one! As women we need different things at different times in our cycles (more on that in another blog). So, with at-home workouts you have the option of versatility. Let’s say you are only able to make it to a physical studio on Thursday’s at 5:30pm and the physical studio offers a Strong Vinyasa Yoga class at that time. More than likely, the physical studio will offer that same exact class every Thursday at 5:30pm on their schedule for continuity leaving you no option to switch to a different style of class based on your needs and/or what you’re feeling that day. With a Virtual Studio and an at-home workout regimen you have versatility at your fingertips. You have a library of class offerings that you can choose from that fit your needs at any specific time. This empowers you to pick the practice that makes you feel great and supports you in the best way possible!
** Privacy – There are so many reasons this is a benefit to an at-home workout regimen. One, you can literally roll out of bed and do the work in your pajamas if you’re running late. You do not have to look the part to participate, you can just do you girl! (I hope you never feel pressured to look a certain way at any studio, physical or virtual!! Just referencing the pajamas here!) Two, you can learn, try, and nail new moves or sequences on your own. Mistakes don’t add stress. Everything flows as you learn how to make the necessary alignment adjustments and/or modify to make the moves feel right in your body. The privacy of exploring new things always feels good to me! I hope you feel confident enough to do this in a physical studio as well, but if not home in your own space is always a safe place to try new things! Also, with an at-home workout regimen you can stop, pause, restart, rewind as many times as you want while you’re learning new things without being rushed into the next move or sequence leaving you feeling accomplished and fulfilled. This is always a plus in my book.
