New Moon in Virgo - August 2022

It’ll be less than a week into Virgo season when the August 2022 new moon rises in the skies.

This New Moon in Virgo serves us a healthy dose of practical magic. As we go into a new lunar cycle this is the time to readdress and reset our own inner world. A time to reflect and to consider what is no longer serving our highest good and the direction we are heading. It is an opportunity for us to not only think but feel into what the new next steps, practices, and actions are that we can take to bring us closer to a feeling of alignment within ourselves and reflect upon the world around us. This is a time to ask yourself, what frequency do I wish to emit and receive back?

The new moon in Virgo will take place in the early morning on August 27th. The sun and moon square Mars in Gemini. This very powerful lunation can help us make solid plans as we enter the final stretch of summer. August’s new moon is taking place in the pure and perfection-seeking sign of Virgo. It has the potential to help us see past the surface-level clutter in our lives and figure out what direction we’d like to steer our ships next. The Virgin Goddess Virgo is truly a symbol of wholeness, wholeness and complete in herself. The Virgo Goddess is the source of her own wisdom, and she seeks all she needs within her own inner being. The Virgin Goddess reminds us to activate our own inner power by taking the choice to step into our own light and power within. All you seek is already within yourself.

Taking the free will choice to sit in stillness, listen, and honor our mind, body, and spirit is a great first step in honoring this New Moon energy. We just have to learn to treat our body as the sacred temple that it truly is. Feeling into the body and tapping into the body intelligence by connecting with the chakra temples is another beautiful step. Every act of self love is a step forward in this direction. A wonderful way to feel into these centers and inner intelligence is yoga and meditation. One of the best ways to use the energy of the Virgo New Moon is to think about ways we can all embody the idea that our body is our temple, not just physically but emotionally and spiritually as well.

Mars squared under this powerful active New Moon, can help us in many ways by encouraging us to connect with our true passions. Mars can also help us conquer our fears and assist us in taking a leap of faith in a direction that we have been wanting to go for sometime now. Whenever Mars energy is strong, we do have to be mindful of acting impulsively or allowing our temper to get the better of us. The grounding earth sign, Virgo, will play a role in guiding the energy to be more grounded. Virgo can also leave us critical of ourselves and others, one of Virgos perfectionism traits. Take this opportunity to give yourself grace and others as well. Therefore, think before you do or react, and be careful where you put your energy. Trust that inner intuition, if situations arises that flag the fire sign of Mars, or nit picky Virgo. You can choose to step back during this period to go inward and sit with your true feelings if that feels safer. Keep in mind not sweat the small stuff during this period.

These are Mutable signs, so there are countless ways this energy can be expressed. There is a yin and yang to each sign in Astrology, being aware is the first step to be in the flow or fight against the current. Overall, this New Moon may feel a bit harsh and may bring some intense energy. We can work our way through it by trying to remember the message of the Virgin Goddess energies. The energy of Virgo is to trust ourselves, find our independence, and treat our body as a temple.

Yoga is not work to me, it is my passionate practice, & I share this embodiment of my authentic self by guiding classes with intention & heart. I have spent many years of self study & practice to find my path to teaching yoga. This journey continues on as my heart stays open to walking a yogic life. I graduated with my 500-hour yoga teacher certification from Zuna Yoga, in Bali Indonesia where I spent over 2 months devoting my life to learn how to guide students through yoga practice in an intensive, immersive training program that awoke the teacher within. I have been guiding students since June 2019. I have also obtained certifications in Buti & Hot Buti Yoga, with Veterans Yoga Project, WAE, Somatic Yoga, & The Resilient Heart™ Trauma-Sensitive HeartMath®. Opening my soul to future trainings, as I’m excited to further expand in my practice & knowledge through training, & share wisdom learned through yoga practice with students.

I’m excited to meet you on the mat and be on this empowering journey with you. Honored to be your guide to your own inner journey with yoga. I teach yoga to share the tools to self-care & self-love with mind-body connection through the practices of movement, breath, & meditation. Yoga teaches us to honor our true authentic selves & accept where we are in the moment. Each day on the mat is a new experience & opportunity to challenge the body as well as nurture it.

I strive to be a clear & compassionate guide by creating a nonjudgmental environment that encourages students to feel safe, confident, & accepted. I show up as my best self to give precise & effective cues to safely get into poses while maintaining the most important part, Prana! In classes I encourage students to let go of competitiveness, judgments, & distracting thoughts, as they breathe and move mindfully…one breath-one movement. Cultivating the wisdom of yoga as a tool to journey into the intelligence of the body, by tuning into the breath & intention of each pose, in the present moment. While always inviting students to honor & listen to their bodies. There is no need to force ourselves into shapes that are not right for us, everybody is different. In yoga we cultivate kindness to ourselves & honesty about what we need in the moment. Being open to honor & trust our flow as we share energy in the space of the studio room.

May you have peace in the mind.
Strength in the body.
And love within your heart.
Namaste
